Loud
I'm not a loud person.
Ivan and I were on the train today and we were having a debate about the term "sinner". I am reading a book called "Victory over the Darkness" by Neil Anderson and Anderson made the point that the term Sinner is generally only used on non-believers, while the term "saint" referred to all believers. The debate was quite lively and Ivan was talking loudly (hehehehehe). We were standing there talking when a young man who was sitting down said something to us.
This young man had over heard our conversation assumed we were Christians and made a statement to challenge our religion. He said that hell was only a short term thing, and that Christians made it a long term thing to scare non-believers into converting to Christianity. That was interesting... I've never heard that one before.
It was obvious he was Jewish, and he had the understanding that religion is all about doing things to avoid hell and to go to heaven. We only had 3 or 4 stops to share our Gospel.
We briefly explained hell to him. I told him that Christianity is not about following rules and doing things to get into heaven. Christianity was entirely about our personal relationship with God. He said he didn't know that and he would do some research on it. If he really does, both Ivan and I will be very very happy for him.
Our stop came and Ivan gave him his business card. Will he contact us?
I am not a loud person, and although it was very noisy in the train, I was uncomfortable that we were talking so loudly. But I think our loudness was used for an unexpected purpose. We gave that young man a completely different view on Christianity.
There were also people standing and sitting around us. I'm sure some of them were listening to our short debate too.
