Creation

There are often times where we have advanced so much and it becomes a little worrying when the fundamentals has either been forgotten or haven't been well established in the first place.

There was one day where a Christian friend of ours asked a question: "Did God just make only Heaven and Earth?"

Strangely, the exclusivity of God only making Heaven and Earth and nothing else never occured to me. If He did not create everything, how could He possibly declare that He is the only supreme and true God?

I thought consulting the Word of God by opening the Bible to Genesis 1:1 would just solve the problem. However, to my suprise (not knowing my verses well enough!) it reads: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." (Genesis 1:1 NIV)

It cannot just end there. The world we live in today just does not match the description in verse 2 which tells us that the earth was formless and empty, and darkness was over the surface of the deep. Reading on, verse 16 tells us that God created two great lights to govern day and night and it goes on to read "He also made the stars".

With a bit of background in astronomy, God did not just only make Heaven and Earth. It is far beyond obvious that He has made more than just the two places for us.

Everything was created with a purpose, even you and me.
